How to Shut Down Windows 8? (10 Ways)

Still wondering how to shut down your Windows 8 computer?

Here are 10 ways to do so:

  1. Put your mouse on the upper-right or lower-right corner of your screen.Go up to Settings, then down to Power, and then click Shut Down.
  2. Press Windows+C to bring up the Charms Bar.Click Settings, then Power, and then Shut Down.
  3. On your Desktop, pres Alt+F4. This will bring up the "Shut Down Windows" menu. Make sure Shut down is selected from the dropdown menu, and click Ok.
  4. Pick a folder (your Dekstop maybe), Right-Click in the file pane and select New, and then Shortcut.
    Type the following location: 
    shutdown /s /t 0, then click Next, and then Finish.
    The shortcut gets created and you can either pin it to Start or to Taskbar using the right-click menu.
  5. Go to Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Power Options.
    On the left side, click
    Choose what the power buttons do.
    Now set
    When I press the power button to Shutdown. Click Save Changes.
    Now you can push the power button to shutdown your computer.
  6. (If you have a laptop) Go to Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Power Options.
    On the left side, click 
    Choose what closing the lid does.
    Now set 
    When I close the lid to Shutdown. Click Save Changes.
    Now you can close the lid to shutdown your computer.
  7. Go to your Windows folder (usually inside the C: drive), then System32, and then double-click shutdown.exe.
  8. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, then on the bottom right corner, click the Power icon, and then click Shutdown.
  9. Call an expert and he/she will shut it down for you.
  10. There are many freeware programs on the internet that can be useful if you want some other/easier/customizable ways to shutdown your computer. Just do a quick search with your favorite search engine.
